KNOW INDIA PROGRAMME (KIP)

Since 2004, the Government of India has been organizing “Know India Programmes” for Youths of Indian origin, with an objective to introduce them to India and promote awareness about different facets of Indian life, cultural heritage, art and various aspects of contemporary India. This Embassy invites applications from the Overseas Indian Youths to participate in the 55th & 56th KIPs. The schedule of KIPs is, as below:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

a) Foreign nationals of Indian origin in the age group of 18-30 years. [As on 1st September 2019 for 55th KIP, and 1st October 2019 for 56th KIP].

b) Applicant should not have participated in any previous KIP or Internship Programme for Diaspora Youth (IPDY) Study India Programme of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) or any other programme organized and paid for by the MEA and any other Ministry/Department in Government of India or a State Government in India.

c) Those who have not visited India before will be given preference.

d) Minimum educational qualification is Graduation from a recognized University/ Institute or enrolled for graduation.

e) The applicants should be able to speak in English, should have studied English as a subject at the High School level or have English as the medium of instruction for undergraduate course.

HOW TO APPLY FOR KIP: Register online at www.kip.gov.in. Submit printout of Application Form alongwith supportive documents and photographs at the Embassy.

ARRANGEMENTS:

a) Participants will be provided local hospitality e.g. boarding/lodging and transportation in India.

b) The Embassy will arrange for return air tickets before participants leave for India, after getting 10% of total air fare from them.

c) Gratis visa will be granted to selected participants.

International Medical and Travel Insurance: All KIP participants are advised to obtain an international travel and medical insurance policy for their visit to India.
