Re-issuance of International Driving Permit

International Driving Permit (IDP) helps the Indian nationals to drive vehicle which is allowed to drive as per Indian Driving License, in foreign country which are the signatory of Geneva Convention on Road Traffic, 1949. The Convention provided for issue of IDP for one year only.

2. With effect from 15.02.2021, this Embassy will start accepting the applications for re-issue of IDP from Indian nationals. Applicant will have to submit the Miscellaneous Consular Service Form alongwith fee of 55 RON and copies of Indian passport, Expired International Driving Permit, Valid Driving License.

3. Thereafter, applicant will apply online for issue of International Driving Permit through the portal www.parivahan.gov.in and upload following documents:

(a) valid Driving Licence issued by the licensing authority under the Central Motor Vehicles (First Amendment) Rules, 2021;

(b) Fee receipt issued by the Embassy;

(c) three copies of the applicant's recent passport photograph;

(d) valid proof of Indian nationality;

(e) valid proof of passport;

4. On receipt of application through the portal, the licensing authority, on verification of documents, shall issue the IDP and shall courier it directly to the address of the applicant.
