Renunciation of Indian Citizenship
RENUNCIATION OF INDIAN CITIZENSHIP:
Any Indian citizen can renounce his/her citizenship by making a declaration in the form XXII specified in rule 23 of The Citizenship Rules, 2009. The application Form has to be filled only on the online portal of MHA at “https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in”. The applicant has to submit the following documents, in person, at the Embassy. The applications will be accepted only with a scheduled appointment (click here for an appointment):
- Declaration of Renunciation of Indian citizenship
- Application for Surrender of Indian passport
- Current Indian passport for physical cancellation
- Temporary Resident Card of stay in Romania/Moldova
- Citizenship Certificate of the acquired nationality
- Current foreign passport
- Two photographs as per photo specifications
- Application Form for Consular Services
