     RENUNCIATION OF INDIAN CITIZENSHIP:

Any Indian citizen can renounce his/her citizenship by making a declaration in the form XXII specified in rule 23 of The Citizenship Rules, 2009. The application Form has to be filled only on the online portal of MHA at “https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in”. The applicant has to submit the following documents, in person, at the Embassy. The applications will be accepted only with a scheduled appointment (click here for an appointment):

  1.  Declaration of Renunciation of Indian citizenship
  2.  Application for Surrender of Indian passport
  3.  Current Indian passport for physical cancellation,
  4.  Citizenship Certificate of the acquired nationality
  5.  Current foreign passport
  6.  Two photographs as per photo specifications  
  7.  Application Form for Consular Services
