Embassy of India Hosts National Day Reception to Mark the 77th Republic Day of India

The Embassy of India, Bucharest, hosted a National Day Reception to mark the 77th Republic Day of India, bringing together members of the diplomatic corps, the Indian diaspora, and friends of India in Romania for an evening of celebration and camaraderie.

Ambassador Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra addressed the distinguished gathering, highlighting the growing and multifaceted partnership between India and Romania — a relationship built on shared values, mutual respect, and a commitment to deepening cooperation across trade, culture, and people-to-people ties.

The reception was graced by H.E. Ms. Ana Cristina Tinca as Chief Guest, whose presence underscored the warmth and strength of the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The formal proceedings were followed by captivating cultural performances set to Indian patriotic songs, which resonated deeply with all those present and lent the evening a truly celebratory spirit.

Republic Day is one of India's most cherished national occasions, commemorating the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26 January 1950 — a foundational moment in the nation's journey as a sovereign democratic republic. Celebrating it in Bucharest, in the company of friends and partners from Romania and beyond, reaffirmed the bonds of friendship that connect India with the world.
