The Embassy of India in Romania celebrated the 77th Foundation Day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), marking nearly eight decades of the organisation's tireless work in promoting India's rich cultural heritage and fostering global outreach through the arts, education, and people-to-people exchange.
The event featured remarks by the Ambassador of India, who reflected on ICCR's enduring legacy as a vital bridge between India and the world, and the Mayor of Suceava, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest, lending the celebration a meaningful local dimension and underscoring the strength of India's cultural ties with Romanian communities beyond Bucharest.
The programme included a vibrant Bhangra performance, bringing the energy and colour of Punjabi folk traditions to the celebration, alongside yoga and meditation sessions that offered attendees a hands-on experience of India's ancient wellness practices. The event concluded with an Open House, allowing guests to engage further with the rich tapestry of Indian art, culture, and tradition on display.
