Ambassador Mohapatra Meets Rector of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest

The Ambassador of India facilitated an important and engaging visit to Bucharest, during which His Excellency met Prof. Dr. Sorin Mihai Cîmpeanu, Rector of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest.

Given the Ambassador's strong personal academic interest in veterinary medicine, the meeting represented a valuable opportunity to explore potential avenues for academic cooperation, exchange, and institutional engagement between the two countries. The discussions reflected a shared openness to strengthening India-Romania academic relations and to fostering future collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including research, faculty exchange, and student mobility in the field of agricultural and veterinary sciences.

The meeting also offered an opportunity to learn more about the University's distinguished legacy, with its roots tracing back to 1852, and its long-standing contribution to advancing agricultural and veterinary education in Romania.

Promising perspectives for further institutional dialogue were identified, laying the groundwork for deeper academic partnership in the months ahead. The Embassy of India to Romania and Moldova remains committed to expanding educational and institutional cooperation between Indian and Romanian universities, recognising the vital role that academic exchange plays in strengthening the broader bilateral relationship.
