H.E. Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, Ambassador of India to Romania and the Republic of Moldova, met with rectors of leading Romanian universities to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation in education and higher learning.
The discussions focused on enhancing academic engagement through student and faculty exchanges, institutional partnerships, joint research initiatives and greater knowledge sharing between universities in India and Romania. India’s growing global educational engagement offers significant opportunities for collaboration. Around 1.3 million Indian students are currently pursuing higher studies abroad.
India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with its emphasis on the internationalisation of higher education, provides a strong framework for fostering academic partnerships, research collaboration and student mobility between the two countries.
India and Romania have considerable potential to deepen educational cooperation, strengthen institutional linkages and foster meaningful people-to-people connections, building bridges of knowledge and innovation between the two nations.
