Swachhata Hi Seva - 2026

The Embassy of India in Bucharest is proud to join the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva – 2026 campaign, launched in tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's enduring vision of a clean and sustainable India. This year's theme, "Swachhata Mein Sewa, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat" (Cleanliness in Service, Clean India, Developed India), reaffirms the collective commitment to building a cleaner, greener and more responsible society.
As part of the campaign, the Embassy is promoting five key pillars of action:
- Clean Surroundings – A Healthier Tomorrow
- Reduce Waste – For a Greener Future
- Adopt Sustainable Habits – For a Stronger Nation
- Community Participation – Together for Change
- Clean India, Green India – Our Shared Responsibility
The Embassy encourages the Indian diaspora, partner institutions and all friends of India in Romania and Moldova to take part in this spirit of service (sewa) by adopting sustainable practices in their daily lives and contributing to a cleaner environment for future generations.
