73rd Independence Day

The 73rd Independence Day of India was celebrated by the Embassy of India, Bucharest, Romania, on 15 August 2019 in the morning at the Embassy premises. The function started at 0900 hrs in the presence of around 200 guests representing the Indian community and the friends of India. The Ambassador of India, Mr. Thanglura Darlong, unfurled the National Flag, which was immediately followed by singing of the National Anthem. The Ambassador then read out the President’s message. He also addressed the guests and explained to them the rationale and the benefits that would accrue to the people from the recent Government of India decisions on Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh. This was followed by singing of patriotic songs and cultural programmes. Light refreshments were served after the event.
