Celebration of ITEC Day 2025
Embassy of India, Bucharest, celebrated ITEC Day 2025 on 7th November 2025 at India House, bringing together a diverse group of more than 60 ITEC alumni, government officials, academicians, and friends of India to mark India’s longstanding commitment to partnership and capacity building through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme.
Ambassador Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra in his address highlighted India’s development cooperation model based on mutual respect, partnership, and solidarity. He emphasized that the ITEC programme, launched in 1964, continues to serve as a vital pillar of India’s engagement with partner countries, promoting human resource development, skill enhancement, and sustainable growth. He encouraged more Romanian nationals to avail themselves of the opportunities offered under the programme to strengthen people-to-people and institutional linkages between India and Romania.
ITEC alumni shared their enriching experiences of training in India and spoke about how the programme had contributed to their professional and personal growth. The event also featured a short video showcasing the impact of ITEC across the world.
The evening concluded with a networking dinner, reflecting the warmth and camaraderie that continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship between India and Romania.
