Embassy of India in Romania Hosts B2B Meeting to Strengthen India–Romania Manpower Cooperation, November 07, 2025

The Embassy of India in Romania, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), successfully organized a Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting aimed at enhancing manpower cooperation and facilitating closer engagement between Indian recruitment agencies and Romanian employers.

The event was held in hybrid format, which brought together key stakeholders from both countries to discuss opportunities, challenges, and pathways for expanding bilateral collaboration in the manpower sector. The meeting saw active participation from several Romanian manpower and recruitment companies attending in person, while more than 35 registered Indian recruitment agencies joined virtually from India, reflecting strong interest and commitment from both sides.

The B2B session was organized in the context of the recent visit of Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, to Romania to attend the 19th Session of the India-Romania Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation (JCEC). During the visit, the Minister held a substantive meeting with Minister of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity H.E. Mr. Petre-Florin Manole to discuss collaboration on skills-based mobility. Both Ministers identified manpower collaboration as a key area of partnership. The Romanian side expressed its willingness to open pathways for up to 30,000 aspirational and skilled Indian workers annually, particularly in sectors facing labor shortages in Romania.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Dr. Manoj Mohapatra emphasized the growing importance of people-to-people linkages in strengthening the bilateral relationship. He highlighted India’s vast pool of skilled and semi-skilled workers and underscored the shared benefits of developing ethical, transparent, and mutually beneficial labor mobility frameworks.

Participants engaged in productive discussions on emerging workforce opportunities in Romania, sectoral demands, and areas where Indian expertise could contribute to Romania’s labor market needs. Key challenges such as visa processing procedures, employment contracts, regulatory frameworks, and ethical recruitment practices were discussed in depth. Both sides emphasized the need to streamline administrative processes, ensure fair treatment of workers, and maintain compliance with international labor standards.

The B2B session provided a valuable platform for direct interaction between Indian and Romanian companies, enabling them to exchange information, establish business linkages, and explore future collaborations. The meeting concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session followed by the exchange of contact details to facilitate sustained engagement and project-level partnerships. Participants on both sides echoed their appreciation for the Embassy and FICCI’s initiative in creating this vital bridge between Indian recruitment agencies and Romanian employers.
