Advisory for Indian Nationals Transiting through Moldova en route to Ukraine/Other Destinations

The Embassy of India in Bucharest, concurrently accredited to the Republic of Moldova, has noted that foreign nationals have recently been denied entry at Chișinău International Airport while transiting through Moldova en route to Ukraine & other countries in the region, despite holding valid Moldovan transit visas and entry visas for the destination countries.

2. Moldovan authorities have informed that, in view of the increasing instances of illegal migration through Moldova into Romania and through Romania to other Schengen countries, border control measures have been significantly tightened. Consequently, passengers who are unable to satisfactorily justify their purpose of travel or onward journey are being denied entry into Moldova, even when in possession of valid visas.

3. Indian nationals are, therefore, advised to exercise utmost caution while planning travel through Moldova to Ukraine or other destinations in the region.
