Subject: India–Romania Hybrid B2B Meeting on Construction Sector Strengthens Business Synergies

The Embassy of India successfully hosted a hybrid Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting focused on the construction sector on 24 April 2026 at the Embassy premises. The event brought together leading Indian and Romanian companies, providing a dynamic platform to explore collaboration opportunities, exchange expertise, and deepen bilateral economic engagement in the infrastructure and construction domain.

The programme commenced with the virtual onboarding of Indian companies via an online platform, followed by the arrival and welcome of distinguished guests from Romania’s construction and infrastructure industry. The hybrid format enabled wide participation, facilitating direct interaction between stakeholders from both countries.

In his special remarks, Ambassador Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra underscored the strong and growing economic partnership between India and Romania. He highlighted the vast potential for collaboration in the construction sector, particularly in areas such as infrastructure development, smart cities, sustainable construction practices, and technology transfer. The Ambassador emphasized that India’s rapidly expanding infrastructure landscape and Romania’s strategic location within the European Union create complementary opportunities for meaningful partnerships.

Mr. Vishal Acharya, representing Bharat Buildcon, delivered a comprehensive address outlining the scope and opportunities associated with the upcoming Bharat Buildcon exhibition scheduled for June 18–21, 2026, at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre), New Delhi. He provided valuable insights into the event, including logistical arrangements, participation benefits, and avenues for international cooperation. His presentation encouraged Romanian companies to actively engage with Indian counterparts and explore participation in the exhibition as a gateway to the Indian market.

The event featured presentations by Indian companies showcasing their capabilities, innovative technologies, and project portfolios in the construction sector. These presentations highlighted India’s strengths in engineering, project execution, cost-effective solutions, and sustainable practices.

An interactive Q&A session followed, allowing Romanian companies to engage directly with Indian participants and representatives from Bharat Buildcon. The discussion facilitated a deeper understanding of market expectations, regulatory frameworks, and potential areas for joint ventures and partnerships.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment to fostering stronger economic ties and facilitating business linkages between India and Romania.

The Embassy of India remains dedicated to promoting trade and investment partnerships and will continue to organize such sector-specific engagements to unlock new avenues of bilateral cooperation.
