Mayor Mihai Chirica had a meeting with the Ambassador of India to Romania, H.E. Shrivastava, who was on an official visit to Iasi.

On June 6, Mayor Mihai Chirica had a meeting with the Ambassador of India to Romania, His Excellency Rahul Shrivastava, who was on an official visit to Iași for the first time. One of the reasons for the visit of the high diplomat is the participation in a cultural event organized by the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University and dedicated to Professor Theofil Simenschy, author of numerous books about India. In the discussions held at the Roznovanu Palace, several areas of collaboration were identified, from the economic one, to the collaboration of construction materials companies, to the Indian labor force, to the cooperation in the field of education, between schools and universities and to the collaboration and promotion of tourism. In this context, the Ambassador mentioned The Cultural Exchange Program, which will facilitate the academic exchange of teachers and students. Romanian Mayor invited His Excellency to take part in next profile fair that will be organized with the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce between Moldova and Romania, which will take place November 2022, in Iași. Also, the Destination Iasi Association will be linked together with the Indian Embassy for further participation in the tourism promotion events organized by the Indian diplomatic mission in Bucharest.
