The official opening of the Fascinating India event, held at the ARCUB Cultural Center, organized by the Embassy of India in Romania, in collaboration with the Maria Foundation for UNESCO, successfully captivated the present audience on this day, July 17. The exhibition showcases exquisite handicrafts, traditional clothing and textiles, exquisite jewelry, and provides henna workshops.
During the speech at the inauguration, Ambassador Rahul Shrivastava emphasized the joyous occasion that 2023 brings, marking 75 years since the establishment of India-Romania diplomatic relations based on shared values, mutual respect and commitment to fostering cultural exchanges. He emphasized the Indian State of Rajasthan as an abundant source of art and culture, accentuating its vibrant colors, intricate designs, and skilled craftsmanship, which make it a treasure trove.
Secretary of State Mrs. Diana Baciuna appreciated the efforts to organise the event and offered her support for more bilateral events in future.
President of the Maria Foundation for UNESCO, Mr. Catalin Bancila, offered his appreciation to the Embassy of India for organizing this event and promoting the values and traditions between India and Romania.
Prof. Dr. Cristian Tiberiu Popescu praised the event and highlighted cultural ties between India and Romania. He said that personalities such as Mircea Eliade, Mihai Eminescu, Amita Bhose, and Constantin Brancusi were instrumental in promoting culture between the two countries.
The event was also honored by representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Dr. Mihaela Lazar of the Architecture University, President of the Association of Romanian Museums Dr. Virgil Stefan Niculescu as well as representatives of public organizations and numerous guests.
Guests were treated to a captivating performance of the traditional Odissi dance by the talented Mrs. Iuliana Das.
